NIBSS
The Lagos metropolitan network currently hosts the National Automated Clearing
System (NACS) that is owned and managed by the Nigerian Inter Bank Settlement
System (NIBSS), a subsidiary of the central Bank of Nigeria.
The security and telecommunications services aspect of the NACS project was
implemented and is being maintained by Telnet
(ipNX was a part of Telnet at the time of implementation and still provides the
communications aspect of the service) as a sub-contractor to NCR, the main
contractor to NIBSS. We have deployed a VPN service based on point-to-multipoint
broadband fixed wireless radio, operating in the licensed frequency band.
The network offers subscribing banks secure and cost-effective communications
links to their business partners. Users of this network have enhanced security,
ease of management and very highly available service.
Subscribing banks include Afribank, All states Trust Bank, Chartered Bank, Citi
Bank, Citizens Bank, Cooperative Bank, Diamond Bank, Ecobank, Equitorial Trust
Bank, First Bank, FSB, Guaranty Trust Bank, Intercontinental Bank, Oceanic Bank,
Standard Trust Bank, UBA, Union Bank, Wema Bank, Zenith International Bank
